When the reserve was set up about 5 years ago, we put together a list of those species already using the site plus those we thought would be enticed in as the habitat developed.

Myna

Myna, or Mynah, an Asiatic starling. Some species have deep, masculine voices and are considered the most talented of all talking birds.

Junco, a small, sparrowlike bird found from northern Canada to Central America. Adult juncos are about six inches long.

Caught the Avett Brothers show at the Chandler in Randolph last week. Many times these hyped-up bands disappoint me when I catch them live.

Whoopers at dusk

It was a miniscule break in the clouds that lured me onto Plex Moss this afternoon - a miniscule break that was swallowed up by the morass of grey frontal systems almost as soon as I was in the car.

Rye Harbour Sightings

On Flat Beach Level this morning there were 250+ Golden Plover , 500+ Lapwing and small numbers of Dunlin , Shelduck and Brent Goose .
